Who should take Regulatory Exam 5 (RE5)?

Regulatory Exam 5 (RE5) is essential for Representatives appointed by financial services providers. To meet the FAIS “fit and proper” competence requirements, passing the RE5 exam within two years of appointment is necessary. Failure to pass will prohibit you from working with most financial products.

If you’re a jobseeker, or you plan to become a Representative, taking RE5 is a great idea. It shows employers that you’re serious about the role, willing to invest time and effort. And of course, once you achieve your goal, you will not need to join colleagues preparing for the RE5—you’ll be ahead of the game!
